"it's quantity, not quality that dictates the success of a nation"

-Coolghoul

The Coolghoul Doctrine, also known as the Doctrine of Quantity is a method famously used by Coolghoul in nations lead by him throughout the interations of Intcraft. The Doctrine details methods for quickly amassing a large amount of players in the town/nation to become a relevant and/or a superpower.

Method

By instantly inviting players new to the server and factionless players, without checking for quality, you ensure a large quantity of players to join your faction. By making your faction larger and more relevant more people will automatically seek out to join the faction, thus the spiral has begun.

Recruiting players from outside sources is also a helpful trick to get more players quickly. Advertise the server on sites such as reddit, 9gag and /pol/ will surely attract a lot of sheep who will easily fall for the clever scheme.

In certain cases, the preceding steps are foregone entirely and the leader implementing the Coolghoul Doctrine simply utilizes /int/craft's permissive take on pirate accounts in order to create dozens of alts. The leader may then log on, join their budding empire, then log off,  never to be seen again. This move is met with significantly higher controversy than the traditional implementation of the doctrine, and is thus referred to by historians as the Cobblestone Corollary to the doctrine.

History

The doctrine was never put to use in the first iteration of Intcraft but it has been used effectively since then. Byzantium(2.0), Carthage(3.0), Fatimid-Khazar Caliphate(5.0), Carthage(7.0) are all notable examples of Coolghoul Doctrine.

Critique

While it has proven to be a quite effective technique, it has still been subject to critique. Players on the server has objected to the method by claiming it creates Memefactions and that it never works out in the long run, which is partially true as most often these factions eventually fall.
